Workshop: How to strengthen your commitment to diversity

Yesterday, June 22nd, the organization Presente, through the specialist Renato Velásquez, offered the workshop “How to strengthen your commitment to diversity”, aimed at all members of Hernández & Cía. The objective of the meeting was to provide tools to the team that allow the recognition of diversity from a valuation point, respect for differences and a human rights approach.

Thus, the following topics were addressed:

• What are we talking about when we address diversity & inclusion?
• Why is it necessary to talk about diversity & inclusion in professional environments? Business case of LGBTIQ+ diversity
• Who are LGBTIQ+ people? Sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression.
• What can each of us do to build a safe space?

The attendees exchanged experiences and highlighted the need to talk about diversity in different spaces. Thus, from the Diversity & Inclusion Committee of Hernández & Cía. we are raising awareness in our work environment by talking upfront about the importance of social change to fight against discrimination and social inequalities.
